Exploring the Most Popular Wedding Venues in San Diego County

Let’s talk about five of our favorite venues to work in San Diego and San Diego County…

The Old Rancho

Conveniently located less than 15 minutes from Carlsbad, The Old Rancho is a laid-back, historic California ranch venue with serious character built in. Sun-washed textures and open outdoor spaces make it an ideal backdrop for artful, design-forward florals without feeling overdone. It’s effortless, warm, and quietly stunning. The tiered space creates an intimate yet dynamic setting for guests counts of 60-150+. We can’t talk about The Old Rancho without mentioning the team at Personal Touch Dining. They are always super communicative and helpful on set up day for both us, the vendors, and the couples.

The Lane

Looking for the perfect blank canvas venue? Look no further than The Lane in downtown San Diego. It is a bright, modern event space with clean lines with great views of the bay. The white walls and high ceilings allow for a full customization of your event whether you’re looking for a green tropical vibe or a flower forward garden party. If you’re dreaming of lush installations or sculptural centerpieces, this venue lets color and design take center stage. They come equipped with a scissor lift for any large statement installations, custom lighting, or intricate draping. Their onsite staff is always a dream to work with as well.

Tivoli Italian Villa

Tivoli offers a breathtaking blend of Italian‑inspired architecture, lush gardens, and sweeping hillside views that create an unforgettable experience for a wedding. We love its multiple ceremony sites, from open‑air courtyards with fountains to terraces overlooking San Diego County’s rolling hills. Part of the Trademark family, Tivoli offers an all‑inclusive approach, complete with planning support, accent décor options, and an executive chef. The Trademark staff is very hands on and will help with any task and support outside vendors.

The Thursday Club

It’s like getting married at Ocean Beach’s Sunset Cliffs but without all the random passersby imposing on your special day. The historic women’s club provides the same sweeping Pacific Ocean views while offering the privacy and exclusivity you want for an intimate wedding. The Thursday Club is set within beautifully manicured gardens and a charming fountain, and it features a light-filled, elegant clubhouse that’s perfect for a customized reception. While perfect for lower guest counts, The Thursday Club’s intimate setting can fit up to 150-200 guests.

Ethereal Gardens

Another Trademark venue we love! The Grotto, one of their many ceremony spaces, is this super dreamy lawn covered in hanging ferns, and it honestly feels like stepping into a hidden garden. It’s both ephemeral and romantic, and just a really pretty spot to say your vows. The whole space has this effortless, natural vibe that makes it feel extra special. Because it is also a botanical garden, the venue is always blooming with fresh flowers for your guests to enjoy.

At the end of the day, the best venue is the one that feels like a true extension of your style. Each of these San Diego spaces offers its own personality, light, and architectural story—and when florals are designed with that in mind, the result feels effortless and immersive. Wherever you land, let the venue guide the design and use flowers to deepen the experience rather than compete with it.
